In India, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have been introduced. Despite the numerous technological improvements in the new gadgets, Google has never intended to compete only on hardware, especially because AI is at the company’s core. The Pixel 8 launch was also about AI, and it had several AI elements that are appropriately referred to as “magic.”

1. Call Pixel Screen in Pixel 8

When spam calls are on the rise, this new Call Screen function is the perfect ally. Your first line of defense against those bothersome spam callers is this. You can use Call Screen to determine who is calling and why before picking up the phone. Google demonstrated how these calls are checked during the event. For instance, if a caller tells you that “you’re lucky and you’ve been selected for a once-in-a-lifetime lottery,” Call Screen will recognize the fraud and hang up the call. But if a delivery person arrives at your home with your goods, Call Screen Assistant will recognize them and present the device user with predetermined options. Simply select “leave the package at the door” to achieve this.

The new Call Screen functionality still needs carrier call minutes and makes use of Google Assistant. India is now not supported by this function, which is unfortunate, but it is anticipated that Google will soon increase the list of nations that are qualified.

2. Editor with Best Take and Magic in Pixel 8

Group pictures can be difficult to take. The Best Take function will be available on Google Pixel devices to make things simpler. In essence, Google will assist you in choosing the greatest face from among the shots you take to get the ideal shot. If someone’s eyes are closed in the finest shot, for instance, you can choose a different picture of them with their eyes open. The photographs will mix naturally as a result.

Google Pixel devices will now support Magic Editor, which was shown off at Google I/O. You may freely move around an image with Magic Editor to focus on any subject or even modify the backdrop weather.

3. Zoom Boost in Pixel 8

This year, optical zoom has become a common feature in premium smartphones. However, Google has unveiled a new feature that might significantly increase its allure. When compared to photos produced with optical zoom lenses, Zoom Enhance will apply AI to improve the quality of photos obtained with optical zoom lenses. The impact of these improvements is still up in the air, though.

4. Both Audio Magic Eraser and Video Boost

Android phones and tablets are vying with Apple’s iPhone in the video market. Google is using a novel strategy to counter Video Boost. Pixel creates a single file that is both locally stored on your smartphone and stored in the cloud when you capture a video with Video Boost. A second file is uploaded to Google’s servers, where it is processed for better low-light visibility and general color correction. After a few hours of processing, Google alerts the user that it is finished.

Another function that could be quite useful in noisy areas is Audio Magic Eraser. You may use it to cut or remove background noise from movies taken with your Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro. Videos taken with other devices can also be used with it.

5. Bard and Google Assistant

On Pixel devices, Google Bard is integrated with Google Assistant. Generative AI will be used by Google Assistant to deliver more customized and organic responses. The Made from Google event featured a demonstration of this function from Google. Consider asking the Assistant for assistance with a caption and even appropriate hashtags to go along with a photo of your dog that you wish to share on social media. Although it’s still in testing, it’s anticipated that the upcoming Pixel devices will be the ones to introduce this function first.
