In light of the India International Trade Fair 2023, which is being held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory. Starting on November 14 and ending on November 27, the event will take place.
Limitations on traffic and detours
commuters should stay off of Purana Quila Road, Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Ring Road, Shershah Road, and Bhairon Marg to avoid traffic jams.
It is strictly forbidden for vehicles to stop or park on Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg. Sher Shah Road, Purana Quila Road, Bhagwan Dass Road, and Tilak Marg will not allow parking.
It is recommended that those attending the Trade Fair take public transport in accordance with the guidelines. When using the Delhi Metro, visitors must disembark at the Supreme Court Metro Station, enter ITPO through Gate 10, or utilize the shuttle service to enter through Gates 6 and 4. Additionally, guests can walk to the venue after catching a train at Mandi House Metro Station. When taking a DTC bus, visitors must disembark at the Mathura Road bus stop.
Hours of Visitation
From November 14 to 18, only business visitors will be permitted; from November 19 to November 27, the trade fair will be open to the general public. Every day after 5:30 p.m., trade fair admission will close.
A few Pragati Maidan gates, namely gates 5-A, 5-8, 7, 8, and 9, will not be open to visitors. The gates that will allow entry for visitors are 1, 4, 6, and 10, and the gates that will allow entry for exhibitors are 1, 4, 5b, and 10.
The service lane in front of ITPO Gates 3 and 7 as well as the entry gates to the basement parking are drop-off locations for guests.
Footfall
Approximately 40,000 people are anticipated to attend the Trade Fair each day, with an additional 100,000 visitors anticipated on weekends and holidays. Road diversions will be put in place, and traffic congestion is expected in the areas surrounding Pragati Maidan.

At IITF 2023, approximately 3,500 exhibitors from India and overseas occupy a spacious 1,10,000 square meter venue.
The “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” theme for this year emphasizes the value of interconnectedness and cooperation in trade for attaining sustainable growth and well-being. It is inspired by ancient Indian philosophy.
During the opening ceremony, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel said, “This time we are fortunate to have the trade fair in this new state-of-the-art complex. The ceremonial inauguration of the Bharat Mandapam, symbolizing a milestone in cultural tribute, was a momentous event presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a significant addition to the nation’s heritage.
According to her, this is an attempt to highlight the nation’s export potential across a range of industries.
Participating in the event are representatives from thirteen countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Egypt, Nepal, Thailand, Turkiye, Vietnam, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
The fair is scheduled to run from November 14–27 from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
