Train Accident Update 2023: 6 Fatalities and 100 Injured in Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express Derailment Bihar

In Bihar’s Buxar district, near Raghunathpur station, more than 12 carriages of the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed on Wednesday night, according to the Hindustan Times. Here are the most recent changes:

  1. Train Accident Six passengers tragically passed away, according to Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar. Over 100 people were hurt, and more than 12 carriages went off the tracks, according to railway sources. Facilities in Ara, Buxar, and Patna have been alerted to accommodate the injured, while hospitals in the state capital, including PMCH, AIIMS, and IGIMS, are preparing beds for them.

      2. According to Buxar Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar, the injured passengers have been sent to nearby hospitals. The injured have been transported to                     AIIMS Patna.

      3.We shall determine the root cause of the incident,’ tweeted Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of railways, along with his condolences for the fatalities. All carriages              have been inspected after the   evacuation and rescue operation was finished. The Buxar derailment site’s war room is operational, Vaishnaw tweeted. Working                  as a team are the NDRF, SDRF, district administration, railway officials, and locals. Hospitals have received the injured.

News about the Buxar train accident: On Wednesday night, the 12506 Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed, causing four fatalities and 70 injuries near Raghunathpur railway station in Bihar’s Buxar district. Quickly after the accident, emergency personnel were sent to the scene, and people with significant injuries were sent directly to AIIMS Patna.

An ANI report states that the tracks are now being repaired. The railways have set up a war room to closely monitor the ground situation.

At least six carriages of the North East Express derailed, with four going off the tracks, while it was traveling from the Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi to Kamakhya Junction in Guwahati. At 7:40 AM on Wednesday, the train left Anand Vihar Station for its roughly 33-hour journey. India Today was told by a local that the train was moving normally when all of a sudden they heard a loud bang and smoke began to come out of the train.

When nearby residents raced to the scene of the train accident to investigate, they discovered that the train had derailed, with the AC carriages suffering the most damage. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of railways, announced that the evacuation and rescue effort had ended. He offered his sympathies to the departed and gave the assurance that the administration would look into what caused the incident in the first place.

Train  services were suspended and detours were implemented in response to the Buxar rail catastrophe.

The Buxar Train Accident,  which resulted in at least four fatalities and 70 injuries, caused the Indian Railways to cancel two trains and divert 21 others. The incident has resulted in the cancellation of the Kashi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express (15125) and Pathna-Kashi Jan Shatabdi Express (15126), according to a statement from the East Central Railway zone.

According to East Central Railway zone Chief Public Relations Officer Birendra Kumar, the accident happened less than 30 minutes after the train departed Buxar station on its way to Ara. “The derailment took place near Raghunathpur station where the train does not have a scheduled stoppage,” added the official.
